Control in Agile Information Systems Development

Software development in general, and agile software development in particular, is largely dependent on social interaction and team work to succeed. Existing studies on team autonomy in agile software development, however, imply that these projects potentially can benefit from different elements of control. Despite intensive interest from academia and practice, even after over a decade of research into agile software development, knowledge in how agile teams should be controlled and how exactly (agile) practices provide benefits in terms of enacting controls is still lacking.
